What an incredible day!!! This place is the perfect Brett/Linda trip!!! While we were getting on our boat, there was a sea lion waiting for us on a lower deck. Just resting. The boat is great – 48 passengers, 25 crew people. A very nice mix of passengers – a few families, some older people (older than us!!) and a lot in between. VERY few dressed up people.
We went to our first island, North Seymour, for a two hour hike around. The animals – mammals, reptiles and birds, are 100% unafraid of people. So a sea lion pup might be lying right on the path, and his or her mother might be 5 feet away. We saw blue footed boobies, with 4 week, 10 day, and brand new babies, less than 6 feet from us – the young ones’ shells were still there! Iguanas all over the place, crazy frigate birds, nocturnal gulls. We were told that the internet on the boat is slow at loading photos, so I’ll try it today, but if it’s too slow, you’ll have to wait until we get home!!!
Adios!!!
